Contributions

Long-Finned Pilot Whale (Globicephala melas) Photo-Identification

Since 2019, we are collecting pilot whale identification images to contribute to the pilot whale research by Elizabeth Zwamborn from the Whitehead Lab at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The aim of this project is to see whether pilot whales are migrating across the North Atlantic (between Iceland and Canada) and to eventually set up a pilot whale ID catalogue for the North Atlantic.
